Step Two: “Getting” rounded copper piping
I thought this would be easy. If Mr Miyagi had rounded copper pipe hanging in his workplace, then The Home Depot should. But nope, not the one in the middle of Lincoln Park. (I found out later that there is such a thing as rounded copper pipe, but nobody in Yuppieville has ever heard of it, apparently.) I was advised to buy a ten-foot length of straight copper pipe and a pipe-bender (and a handle for the pipe bender). So I did.
